Cot bedding sets donation
Last summer I took part in a project launched by a non-governmental organisation from out town. Inhabitants of our town and all nearby villages donated money, food, clothes and furniture to victims of natural disasters from the south of the country. My job was to collect things from a restricted area (my village), pack them, make a list of donated items and transport the parcels to the organisation"s headquarters. It turned out to be not an easy task to do. Lots of people wanted to help. They brought various things, but I had to make sure that they stick to the list of most needed items. There is a company that produces cot bedding sets in our town. They donated twelve brand new sets. The owner of the supermarket gave some food and cosmetics as well. There were some sanitary items and medicines form the chemist. People also brought canned food, cat and dog food, warm clothes and blankets, shoes, tents, toys and money. I packed the cot bedding sets and the medicines first. Then I transported clothes and food. It was one of the most difficult jobs I have ever had. I took it up voluntarily so I did not expect anything in return. And I was not the only one; several secondary school and university students from our area helped in the project.
